Novella

At some point last year, I decided that I should write a book.  I’m not entirely sure why I thought this would be a good idea.  But, because I am both naive and full of myself, I started writing it.

And kept writing it.

And when I finished it, I was pretty pleased with how it turned out.

It’s called #$@%ing Read Me!

It’s a novella, really.

The Old Man and the Sea is also a novella.  But mine has few to no appearances by giant marlins.

Basically my novella is a romantic comedy… about cancer.

It’s that old “Boy meets girl.  Boy gets girl.  Girl gets life-threatening disease.  Boy tries to make it better.   Boy screws up A LOT” story.

You know the one?

And you can – and SHOULD – buy it!

It is available from lulu.com as a paperback and as a downloadable .pdf.

Here are the first twenty pages as a teaser.

If you don’t believe me that you should buy it, check out what some  brilliant bloggers had to say:

  1. Hey, your Amazon link is broken… but your writing chops are swell.

Lucky us: you love dialogue, you’ve got a great grasp of tone, you deliver spare but evocative environments, and you know the value of structure and plot, so you’re ahead of most. Keep on writing, and let me know (email) if you have any screenwriting questions.

  2. I tried to use the link to your novella on Amazon, but I got scolded with the words “Bad Request” in big bold writing… That was me told.

Hey Peter, I came across your blog looking for other “Indie” writers besides me…it’s a lonely world the internet, if you don’t know exactly what to search for. I too wrote a book based on my love life, and I too published on lulu.com last summer. Anyway, if you have time, check my book out “Notes, Thoughts & Love Letters: the journal of V” on lulu.com. I noticed you don’t link, but I think I’d like to link to you :)
